Phil's service

Summer has been harsh in many parts of the country. But it will soon turn into Fall’s cooler days. Whether you’re still planning on taking that long-awaited-for summer road trip, or just for your short commute to work or school, you want a reliable vehicle. Call your auto center to schedule an inspection of your vehicle. Your mechanic will look for any hidden problems and make sure that your vehicle is ready for the road.

To ensure that customers are driving as safe as possible, an auto center offers these auto service tips:

  1. Follow the vehicle maintenance schedule: This schedule is outlined in your owner’s manual, which includes oil changes, brake service, transmission service, and more! Any worn-out parts or dirty fluids should be replaced.
  2. Check the condition of the tires: Look for signs of excessive tread wear. Your tires should be rotated about every 5,000 to 6,000 miles, especially before a road trip. Make sure each tire has the right air pressure. If the tread has worn down, it may be time to purchase new tires.
  3. Clean out your car for a more comfortable ride: Clean windows and bright lights will make sure you can see and be seen. For better fuel efficiency, lighten the weight by removing any unnecessary items from the trunk and backseat.
  4. Pack an emergency kit: Keep an emergency kit in the trunk, which should include a blanket(s), snacks, water, a jack and spare tire, jumper cables, flares, and your cell phone charger.
  5. Inspect the radiator and hoses: Make sure the ratio of coolant and water is adequate for hot or cold temperatures and that there are no cracks or bulges in the hoses.

Even with a lot of planning, the unexpected can still happen. But, you can go down the road with confidence, knowing that your auto center has taken good care of your car.
